Our Role: BECxP
Project Owner: General Services Administration (GSA)
AOR: Snow Kreilich Architects
HUSarch is serving as the Building Envelope Commissioner Providers (BECxP) for 10+ buildings serving the Dept. Homeland Security Customs + Border protection, USDA, and FDA, as managed by the General Services Administration. As BECxP, HUSarch works from pre-design through post-occupancy to seal the building envelopes, thereby reducing potential energy leakages and water intrusion, maintaining mechanical efficiencies, and providing long-term operating cost savings.
We determine the owner’s requirements, conduct needs assessments and ensure the project will satisfy all applicable regulations. We hold the architect and contractor accountable to these requirements by reviewing design details, providing specifications, reviewing submittals, observing mock-up locations, developing pre-functional testing checklists, observing testing of the envelope, and providing progress reports to the owner and design teams. We then verify the project completion and develop an ongoing commissioning plan for the building enclosure including maintenance, renewal and revitalization cycles.
Project Size: 115,750 sf
