2025 Gratitude List

We have so much to be grateful for this thanksgiving. One of those things is seeing our team grow to 12 people! Read on to hear what a handful of them are grateful for this year:

Chyanne

I'm grateful that everything seems to be coming together this year, there is such a great vibe of collaboration and communication across our team. We have seen our relationships with our neighboring organizations (CASL, S2S, IL Green, MEEA, South loop chamber of Commerce, and The Resurrection project) deepen we finally fixed up our space and are fulfilling a long time dream of opening our doors to our community through our 3rd Friday arts and energy open houses.

Even though the current federal administration has come out against well-established science about climate change, conservation, and energy efficiency, I am grateful to find a community of experts in the building industry that is passionate, persistent, and positive about the future of a more sustainable world, whether that is through changes in LEEDv5, local-community-focused stretch codes, or organizations like Illinois Green that continues to educate and advocate.

Mac

It has been really excellent to see an increased focus on "building communities" through our variety of work. Whether it is helping to provide sustainable affordable housing through the ComEd AHNC program or CHA's work with smaller community businesses/contractors, it gives me a lot of hope for the future and excitement for improving processes.

I am most thankful for life and that it continues to bless me daily with the strength to fulfill my duties for both my family and work family. Working for HUSARCH has been a treasure within itself. Being a woman-owned architect firm is something that I boast about often. Observing the owner, Chyanne Husar navigates many processes to make sure that she provides a fair, diverse, flexible and transparent work environment impresses me the most. I am very thankful for her guidance. Being a part of such a marvelous team with positive attitudes, friendly personalities and knowledgeable staff makes it easy to manage such a wonderful office. I'm very happy to say that I work for HUSARCH, a woman owned business that is very involved with the community with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency goals.

Nehaa

I am grateful to be part of a team that recognizes each other's strengths and to work alongside colleagues who inspire me everyday, fostering a space where we grow together and contribute to meaningful work.

This year I got to work with the Chicago Sustainable Development Policy for the first time - Feeling super grateful to be living and working in a city with a commitment to sustainability in new projects!

Krystal

This year I started at HUSARCH, and it feels like the first real step into the career I studied for at school in sustainable design. So I am feeling super grateful to be at a place like HUSARCH that truly values community and designs/accounts for every unique member in our community.

Pat

I am grateful to have found an organization that is so dedicated to inclusive architecture and energy equity. I am also grateful to have had the opportunity to continue my education and be able to further develop my knowledge of energy technologies, financing, and policy that are so important to the work we do at HUS. Finally, I'm thankful for all of the fun and pretty places in Chicago and all the amazing people that live here.

Emma

I went full time this year and I am feeling so grateful for being able to build a marketing career for a company that really values sustainability and community. I’m so inspired by the team’s commitment and hard work to make our world a more sustainable place, and for Chyanne’s endless passion and energy that keeps our firm moving forward, and that takes care of the staff, the community and the world.
